I know some of you are unfamiliar with Pokemon nest. So before we start with the topic, you should know what is Pokemon nest first. A Pokemon nest is a place where a certain Pokemon like Dratini spawn frequently. Pokemon nest changes its location every 22-24 days, this process is called Pokemon nest migration.
The last Pokemon nest migration happened on 8th of October and today is just the 2nd week since the last migration. You may notice that this migration only occurs in 2 weeks. Although we cannot confirm if this is the official migration, there are many reports that nest has been changed.
There are few recorded events since the migration happened:
- 1st migration – July 29, 2016
- 2nd migration – August 22, 2016
- 3rd migration – September 16, 2016
- 4th migration – October 8, 2016
- 5th migration – October 20, 2016
- 6th migration – November 4, 2016
- 7th migration – November 16, 2016
- 8th migration – December 1, 2016
- 9th migration – December 17, 2016 (Current)
Noteworthy 9th Migration Info: This is the sixth time that migration happens in 2 weeks span. Unlike the previous migration that happened in almost 3 weeks, it looks like the normal nest migrations will likely happen again every 2 weeks.
Nest migrations are not the same in all area. Some nest may remain the same but most of the time, it will change because that is how it works. Trainers usually go outside and shared the nest to the community if they found one. But if you don’t have any idea where to find some nest, you can check Nest Atlas to know what are the nearest nest in your place.

There are also reports that sightings of Dragonite and other rare Pokemon become frequent in a place where there are no sightings before. There are also theories that the nest migration might have caused some nests to become Double Spawn ones.
Lots of trainers complain that this Pokemon nest migration is making more difficult on catching Pokemon but keep in mind that being a trainer is not easy as you think. We know that you become a trainer to be the very best so you have to put a lot of work to achieve that.
